Eligibility Criteria for WB Fire Services Recruitment 2018

Salary Scale: (Pay Band-2) Rs.5,400 to 25,200/- with Grade Pay Rs.2,600/- besides D.A., M.A. and H.R.A. admissible as per rules.

Age Limit: Not less than 18 years and not more than 27 years on the 01.01.2018.

Age Relaxation: Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxable in respect of the candidates belonging to the categories of the SC or the ST or the OBC (Group A & B) in accordance with extant rules of the Government.

Academy Qualification: Must have passed the Madhyamik (10th) examination or its equivalent from any Government recognized Board or Institution.

Application Fee: Rs.110/- only + Service Charge 1% of Examination Fee subject to a minimum of Rs.5/- only for online payment through debit/credit card plus service charge /GST as applicable as Govt. Duty or Service Charge of Rs.5/- only for Net Banking or Service Charge of Rs.20/- only for payment through Bank Counter (off-line payment). SC & ST candidates of West Bengal are not required to pay any fee.

How to Apply: Applications can be submitted by online mode only through ‘www.pscwbapplication.in’. Submission of more than one application by the same candidate is strictly forbidden and such applications are liable to cancellation.

Method of Recruitment: The posts in the rank of Fire Operator shall be filled up by selection through direct recruitment on the basis of a written examination, physical measurement test, endurance test and personality test to be conducted by the Commission.

Must have to qualify any four of the following endurance tests:
(a) 1000 meter run within 5 minutes;
(b) Ladder climbing within 20 seconds;
(c) Lifting and carrying of sandbag weighing 63.5 kg continuously for the minimum of 50 meters;
(d) Run up three stories of the standard staircase within 1 minute;
(e) Rope climbing using only hands within 60 seconds;
(f) High Jump 1.22 meter or more.
