About Seth Anandram Jaipuria College:
Seth Anandram Jaipuria College was founded by Sri Mangturam Jaipuria in memory of his illustrious father. It is housed in the famous Sovabazar Rajbari, a landmark in the cultural history of the city of Kolkata. The College, since its inception, has been associated with many eminent personalities who were involved in the Indian Nationalist Movement. One of them, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, inaugurated the College on December 22, 1945.
In memory of the illustrious founder of the College, Late Seth Mangturam Jaipuria, the Trust and the Governing Body of the College award Gold Medals annually to the successful students who secure highest marks in the three disciplines of Arts, Science and Commerce in the University Examinations.

Selection Criteria For Seth Anandram Jaipuria College Admission 2020Educational Qualification:
Hons: A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. For BBA 55% marks in the aggregate from any discipline.
Major/Vocation: For these Courses a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate at the previous qualifying Exam.
General/Diploma/Advanced Diploma: For these Courses, a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate at the previous qualifying Exam.
However, Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or OBC-A or OBC-B Community taking up Honours/Major/Vocation Course of Study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.
Calculation of Aggregate:
Aggregate marks means the sum of marks obtained in best scored four subjects in (+2) stage Exam as per Calcutta University norms. Any application not satisfying the Admission criteria is liable to be cancelled.
Formula for merit list preparation:
For General Courses: As per university Norms. (Excepting B.Com general)
For Honours Courses: Best of four + Subject Concerned. (Best of four = Marks secured in four subjects [full marks being not less than 100] in which a candidate has secured highest marks. Subject Concerned = the subject in which student applying for Honours. Compulsory environment studies paper shall not be considered.

Admission will be strictly on the basis of merit. Merit list will be prepared uniformly on the basis of the following criteria :
(i) In case of Honours courses : Aggregate (as per previous explanation) plus the marks obtained in the subject in which he/s he intends to take up honours or related subject. However, students who avail themselves of the Rule 3(III) will not get the benefit of ‘related subject’.
(ii) In case of Major and General courses : Merit list will be prepared on the basis of aggregate.
