Eligibility Criteria For OBC Scholarship 2018 – Pre & Post Matric Scholarship
For Pre-Matric program, candidates are required to possess qualification up to IX to 10th class.
For Post Matric program aspirants should possess qualification above 10th class from recognized school or board.
The scholarships will be open to Indian nationals belonging to OBCs, as notified by the Central Govt./State Govt./ UT Admin.
For Pre-Matric Scholarships: Candidates who wish to apply for Pre Matric Scholarships their parent’s income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 44, 500/- per annum.
For Post Matric Scholarships: Candidates who wish to take the advantage of Post Matric Scholarship their parent’s income should not be more than Rs.1.00 lakh per annum from all the sources.
The scholarships will be provided for the entire course. Maintenance allowance will be given for 10 months only in an academic year.
As the number of scholarships for minorities available in a year is fixed and limited it is necessary to lay down preference for selection. Inter-se selection weight age is to be given to poverty rather than marks. In case of the renewal applications, such applications would be fully exhausted before the new applications are considered.
Renewal of Scholarship:
The scholarship, once awarded, may be renewed during next academic year of the course on the production of certificate that the student has secured 50% marks
Conditions For Scholarship:
(i) The scholarship will be available to the students of minority community studying in Classes I to X. The continuance of award will be subject to securing 50% marks in the previous examination. Maintenance allowance will be provided to hostelers and day scholars.
(ii) The award will be discontinued if a student fails to secure 50% marks in the annual examination except in case of unavoidable reasons to be certified by the Principal/competent authority of the school and recommended by the State Government/Union Territory Administration.
(iii) The scholarship will not be given to more than two students from a family.
(iv) Students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick will be decided by the competent authority of the school.
(v) Income Certificate; Income certificate from the employer for employed parents/guardian or Certificate to be issued by the Competent Authority declared by the State Government/ UT Administration.
(vi) The school/institute will certify the claim of the student of being an outstation student not residing in the hostel of the school/institute concerned.
How To Apply For OBC Scholarship 2018 – Pre & Post Matric Scholarship
The concerned State Government/Union Territory Administration will supply the application forms, till such time computerized systems are made operational by the State Governments/Union Territory Administrations. The application forms should be received back along with requisite certificates/certifications within the stipulated period
» Candidates who are interested should go to an official site that is socialjustice.nic.in.
» Thereafter, press on “Department of Social Justice and empowerment” link.
» Now hit on “LAWS, POLICIES & SCHEMES” tab given in the right panel of the page.
» Choose link ‘Scholarship Schemes’ link and go through ‘Welfare of Backward Classes’ section.
» Choose ‘Post-matric Scholarship for OBC’ or ‘Pre-matric Scholarship for OBC Students’ according to your choice.
» Choose appropriate link and download format of application form.
» After that candidate needs to fill the application in prescribed format.
» Attach the essential credentials and passport size photograph with it and send it to an officer specified for this purpose by the Government of State/Union Territory.
» One copy of the passport size photograph with signatures of the student thereon (for fresh scholarship)
» One attested copy each of certificates/diploma/degree etc., in respect of all examination passed
» A certificate (in original) of Caste signed by an authorized Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.
» An income declaration by the parents/guardians.
» A receipt in acknowledgment of the scholarship in the previous year
