Acharya Jagdish Chandra (AJC) Bose College traces its roots in 1968 when two separate colleges, Birla College of Science & Birla College of Education were amalgamated into a single college. The college was then named Birla College of Science & Education. It was renamed as AJC on July 1, 1987. It is a government aided educational institute under pay packet scheme of State Government of West Bengal. The college is affiliated to Calcutta University.
With a desire to excel in the field of Arts and Science, the college provides 12 UG courses and B.Ed in various subjects under its top-notch faculty. A number of full free-studentship and half free-studentship are granted to the meritorious and economically backward students.

Selection Criteria of Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose College Admission 2022 – Apply Online For B.A, B.SC, B.com Hons & Gen Course
Educational Qualification:
Hons: A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. For BBA 55% marks in the aggregate from any discipline.
Major/Vocation: For these Courses a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate at the previous qualifying Exam.
General/Diploma/Advanced Diploma: For these Courses, a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate at the previous qualifying Exam.
However, Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or OBC-A or OBC-B Community taking up Honours/Major/Vocation Course of Study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.
Calculation of Aggregate:
Aggregate marks mean the sum of marks obtained in best scored four subjects in (+2) stage Exam as per Calcutta University norms. Any application not satisfying the Admission criteria is liable to be canceled.
Application Fee:
An application fee of Rs. 300/-(may be) excluding bank charges is to be paid online for each application, failing of which the application will not be considered. Detail about the mode of payment and bank charges will be displayed at the time of submission of the form.
